Lush’s Jason and the Argon Oil Shampoo Bar Review

I suck. I know. I am horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE. I have been absent for nearly two weeks. There have been a few things to cause this, most of which is house hunting and packing. House hunting sucks. I used to think that would be fun to look at houses, I was so wrong. In a few weeks time, we have looked at roughly 16 houses. We have loved 4. By the time we stepped foot in the house, they already had several applications on it (we are renting, not buying—which means we get to do this again in a few years when we are buying. JOY.) We even got to be the first people to view a house within hours of it being “on the market”, but it already had four applications on it before we got ours in the next morning…FOUR. We kept getting passed over since we had to put in a 30 day notice for our apartment, and apparently, that’s too long of a wait for someone to move in. To remedy that problem, we put in our notice for our apartment. Our realtor told us it would be no problem finding a house we like that is available. Well….It’s a problem. My husband says I am much too picky when it comes to the house. I just want a good kitchen and a garden tub. It’s not like I am asking for 24k Gold toilet seats. Basically, if we don’t find something in the next 23 days, we will be "homeless". I am to the point I want to curl up in a fetal position and cry each time I think about looking at houses. We even have a list of 11 more that we want to look at within the week. ELEVEN MORE. The thought is a little bit horrifying. So, if I am missing a bit in the next few weeks, you know why!

Anywho, I digress. Silly me, thinking you all come here to read about my feelings! HA! Here is what you are really here for….My review on Lush Cosmetic’s Jason and the Argon Oil Shampoo Bar!!!
I was “blessed” with baby-fine hair, but I have bountiful amounts of it and it’s a bit dry on the ends, I can thank my mother’s Greek half for that one. Blow drying, straightening, and curling almost daily doesn’t help either.  The biggest struggle I have with my hair type is getting the right mixture of moisture that won’t completely weigh my hair down.
I have tried several different shampoo and conditioner pairs that all promise the same thing – “high volume” without dried out locks. They all lied. Once I was done blow-drying my hair, I looked like a blonde Magenta from Rocky Horror. Definitely not a cute look for me, unless it’s Halloween.

Description: From the Lush site, On a quest for stronger, shinier, softer hair? Look no further! This luxurious Rose Jam-scented bar will satisfy all your hair aspirations and more. Gorgeous Moroccan argan oil in a moisturizing glycerin base leaves hair smooth and shiny, and our fresh and sophisticated lemon-rose perfume will linger in your locks all day long. This solid self-preserving bar will last for up to 80 washes (that’s the work of three bottles of liquid shampoo!) and requires no packaging.

Size/Price: $9.95 for 1.9oz

Review: As the name suggests, it’s made with Argon Oil, which is a great oil to have in your beauty arsenal. It smells absolutely divine, just like their Rose Jam shower gel that is available during the Holidays. It does smell a bit sweet, but in a very pleasing way. The scent does stick around for a while, but it’s not overpowering. The bar is also a pretty pink! I mean just look at that color! I am a sucker for pretty products The argon oil has also changed my hair for the better! The first couple of shampoo sessions I used this product, my hair was a little bit oilier than I expected, nothing a little dry shampoo didn’t fix. (If you need a good dry shampoo, check out my last post!) By the third use, my hair and scalp were used to the product and the results were marvelous. My hair was very shiny and had some nice bounce! My husband even said it was softer than normal, and you know how those husbands rarely notice things like that! This product might even be working its way into the Holy Grail Shampoo spot for me. It is THAT good.

Keep in mind, because of all of the oil that is packed inside this tiny little gem causes it to be a little bit on the soft side, so if you drop it or anything, it could break. It also has a tendency to break into smaller pieces as it gets thinner, but that goes with all of the Lush Shampoo Bars I have used.
As much as I want to sing only the praises for this shampoo bar, I have noticed one thing. Now that things are warming up here in the Dallas area, my hair is starting to lean a bit more on the oily side. Because of the argon oil in this shampoo, I am finding this might not be the best shampoo for the summertime. My hair tends to get a little bit oilier by the end of the day and more dry shampoo is needed. I might just reserve this as my Fall/Winter/Spring shampoo. I will update you more when it gets to be 100° every single day! Also, the description says it lasts 80 washes – or 3 bottles of shampoo, I would have to disagree with this statement. I have to replace this after ever 30 washes or so. Even with all of that, I would give this product a solid 4/5 stars.

Have you tried a shampoo bar before? What did you think? What brand/kind is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

It Cosmetics Ulta Meet & Greet

This is a late post, but last week was kind of a blur it was so busy! My main squeeze was out of town for work, so I was left with kiddo duty all week, plus it was my birthday, my son’s Pre-K Graduation, and we have been house hunting! I still don’t know how I fit sleep in there anywhere. Nonetheless, here I am with a recap of the second part of the weekend – the IT Cosmetics Meet & Greet at Ulta! Check out the first part of the weekend here! Shalott, from Shalittle.com , and I drove out to the Ulta in Southlake for this fabulous occasion. The purpose of this meet & greet was to introduce people to the IT Cosmetics line through makeovers as well as the opportunity to meet Jamie Kern and the other amazing ladies from the IT Cosmetics team. Upon walking in to the store, you could just feel the excitement and energy coming from all the people there for their complementary makeovers! This was the busiest I have ever seen an Ulta store – even busier than the 2 days befor

IT Cosmetics VIP Dinner

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to be invited to a very special VIP dinner hosted by   IT Cosmetics   , along with fellow Dallas bloggers! The dinner included some divine food, champagne, fabulous makeup, and some incredibly fun company at   Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck  atop Reunion Tower in Downtown Dallas. We were also treated to makeovers and a meet & greet with the Co-Founder, Jamie Lima. Being so new at blogging this was my very first experience like this, and let me tell you it was a great first experience. The night started off with some wonderful appetizers, that unfortunately I did not snap pictures of! The tables were also decorated with some of IT Cosmetics products! Adorable! Once we sat down for dinner, we learned more about the company and their products. I had known of the company prior to this due to the New Beauty Test Tube last spring. I received one of their fabulous brushes, which made me want to try the other products! I ended up learning so
